Labor Day!
Did you know…
Labor Day was first celebrated on Tuesday, September 5, 1882 by the Central Labor Union in New York! It was not until two years later that the first Monday in September was selected as the “official” Labor Day holiday. The Central Labor Union urged similar organizations in other cities to follow suit in honoring laborers and the contributions they had made to the well-being of our country; thus, Labor Day was born!
How will you be celebrating Labor Day? Might we suggest Rib Fest?! Enjoy food, music, and fun at Military Park downtown! There is free admission from 11am-1p Saturday through Monday! Check out the Rib America Festival website to learn more!
Enjoy your holiday weekend PBV!
